Little Li
When our alpaca Abi first joined our family we hoped that she will have a kid soon. But sadly this didn't happen, and two years later she tragically lost her child during childbirth. And when Abi's belly started to grow last year, we were all anxious and happy at the same time.
And we waited. And when Abi became seriously impatient on Monday in January, and complained and cried to everyone who came by, we knew it was for real. Alpacas are known for quick and easy births, but not Abi. For the next two days, we waited and consulted with several vets about what was going on. Some of us even spent the night in the barn with Abi to be available to her if she needed help.
But it really started on a Wednesday morning. While other barn animals were enjoying their breakfast, Abi quickly and without help gave birth to little Li.
