Try shaping clay with different hand-building techniques and throwing on a wheel. Learn about firing and glazing clay. We offer two different workshops, one about shaping clay, and another about painting and glazing bisque. For both, the results can only be picked up a few days after the workshop.

Shaping clay

Ceramic kiln containing various ceramic pottery pieces, including bowls and vases, with some small ceramic animal figurines.

In this workshop, you will try different hand-building techniques and throwing on a wheel. As the clay needs to dry before we fire it, you can only collect the bisque-fired results a couple days after the workshop.

Painting and glazing

A workspace with various handmade pottery pieces, including cups, bowls, and decorative items, some with painted leaf patterns in red, purple, and blue, arranged on a wooden table.

You will try painting with under-glaze colors onto blanks from Shaping clay. In case you don’t have your own bisque pieces, we can provide a slip-cast bowl and cup. Painted bisque will be dip-glazed and fired in a few days after the workshop
